The numerous blue flag beaches of the Cambrian, Lleyn, Anglesey, Llandudno
and Rhyl are to the West and North. Majestic mount Snowdon (highest in England
and Wales), only 15-45 minutes away in the centre. Scenic Cader Idris to the
South and the green Vales of Conway & Clwyd, with their rolling hills,
heather moor-lands and Chester are to the East. Visitors are within easy distance
of all; and nowhere in Britain will you find such a diverse selection of scenery

Tranquil forest paths, gentle coastal walks or adventurous mountain trails,
allow for a variety of birds and vegetation to interest nature lovers. In
the South, are Cader Idris, the Torrent and Precipies walks in Dolgellau,
with miles of forest walks up to Bala. and Beddgelert.
In the centre are the Cnicht, Tryfan, Snowdonia with its numerous peaks and lakes, which drops down
to the Swallow Falls, lakes and forest walks of the Conwy Valley. The Denbigh
Moors (grouse land), are bordered by the Clwydian Range, with Offa’s Dyke
other hill walks and Chester to the East On the Cambrian, Lleyn and Anglesey
coastal walks porpoises, dolphins, seals, choughs, puffins, are seen among
the numerous auks.

There is a choice of challenging park-land and strenuous links courses with
breathtaking views and reasonable green fees.
The Royal St David’s at Harlech hosts the Senior men’s World Competition. The Nefyn course at Porthdinllaen;
Trearddur Bay in Anglesey; Conway, North Wales and Maes Du in Conwy; Mold and Wrexham to the East; Aberdyfi in the South as well as other country clubs,
provide for all handicaps at reasonable rates!
There are a total of 28 courses
in the area – play a different 18 every day, these within 20 miles of your
accommodation!

With 200 miles of coastline, numerous rivers, lakes, reservoirs, streams
& coarse- fishing lakes– this is an angler’s paradise. The rivers Clwyd, Dee,
Conwy, Seiont, Dwyfor, Glaslyn, Mawddach, Wnion and Dyfi are the larger rivers,
home of salmon and trout. These flow through peaceful scenic valleys, where
one can relax and take a treat home for supper.
The numerous natural lakes of Snowdonia, Crafnant, Gwynant, Mymbyr, Padarn Tal y Llyn also have trout,
while Cwellyn and Bala lakes are noted as the home of the and gwniaid an ancient
species of fish. There are also numerous natural and private coarse fishing
lakes, while along the coasts bass, mackerel, rays, dog fish, pollock and
bream can be caught off the rocks, with plaice, dabs founders and whiting
off the shores.

The rocky coastline of Holy Island in Anglesey, inland escarpments in Tremadog
, craggy slopes of the Nant Francon and Llanberis passes, the peaks of Tryfan,
and Snowdon provide for all skills.
Tuition is available in some areas.

Cycle trails along narrow country lanes, forest, & coastal tracks or cross-country
– the choice is yours. Most areas have designated cycle routes allowing for
a safe family outing.
The forest tracks allow for peace and quiet, while the
narrow country lanes are a nature lover’s paradise. Some areas have cross
country tracks – ask your host for directions.

White water canoeing/rafting national competitions are held in Bala and Llangollen.
Coastal sports sailing, sail-boarding, skin diving, surfing, kite surfing,
sea-canoeing, swimming all are widely available.
Aberdyfi; Bermo; Porthmadog; Abersoch & Pwllheli (blue flag marina) where national and international events
are held annually; Aberdaron, Caernarfon; Felinheli, Holyhead; Beaumaris;
Conwy, & Rhos on Sea, all have mooring provisions.
The rocky promontories are are a haven for skin divers, as is the famous Dorothea Quarry lake, while
the coastal swell at Porthcieriad, Porthneigwl, Porthoer are a surfer’s paradise - take your pick of
these activities, or relax on a sandy blue flag beach.

Hourly, half and full day rides along coastal, forest, country tracks and narrow country lanes are available in most areas. Some schools arrange a day’s outing with a stop for lunch in a country pub, allowing for a respite for man and beast.

Quad biking, rally carting, hover crafts, land boarding, paint ball parks, motor safaris, horse harness racing, ice skating, hot air balloons, hang gliding or take a week end break to the dry ski slopes at Trawsfynnydd, Capel Curig, & Llandudno for a practice before your skiing holiday, .
